Why Pilates and Yoga?
I was diagnosed with Scoliosis after the birth of my second child, I had been experiencing tremendous back pain on a day-to-day basis and began to grow a hump on my back. My consultant prescribed painkillers, advised there was no cure at my age and that it would most likely worsen as I got older. When he advised that I would require painkillers for the rest of my life, I knew I had to find another way. This is where my Pilates and Yoga journey started.
Alignment. Strength. Flexibility.
With the Regular Practise of Pilates and Yoga, I have improved the scoliosis curvature of my spine, I have grown 1 inch taller as the muscles supporting my spine have strengthened, I have much better posture, my hump has gone and I now live a pain-free life. I do still have some days when my back grumbles but with regular personal practise, I can disperse that pain more quickly allowing me to enjoy life again.
Pilates or Yoga?
My answer, “I have trusted both”
The precision and science behind the Pilates principles have transformed my body, restored alignment, strength and flexibility.
Yoga has rebalanced not just my body but also my mind, giving me strength, confidence, courage and energy to heal myself.
